Overview
Overview
Niayla-Dia Murray is an associate with the firm’s New Jersey office, where she focuses her practice on general liability defense, personal injury defense, and construction defect litigation. She provides strong advocacy for her clients in complex litigation matters.
Niayla-Dia’s interest in personal injury law emerged unexpectedly during her study of the Scandinavian criminal justice system. Originally set on a path toward criminal law, she traveled to Scandinavia to explore its justice system. However, after slipping and falling in her hotel, she found herself navigating the Swedish healthcare and legal system instead. While recovering, Niayla-Dia became deeply engaged in the nuances of premises liability, sparking a shift in her career focus toward personal injury law.
Niayla-Dia has achieved remarkable success in trial advocacy, earning second place in three nationally recognized trial competitions and securing first place at the American Association for Justice’s Northeast Regional Competition. In 2023, the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association honored her with the James J. Manderino Award for Trial Advocacy.
As a Philadelphia native, Niayla-Dia earned her bachelor’s degree in philosophy and political science from Drexel University. She also had the privilege of sharing the stage with Malala Yousafzai, the world’s youngest Nobel Prize laureate, at the 2017 Liberty Medal ceremony.
