New York Partner Adam Dolan Publishes Article on Dram Shop Laws in Texas and Arizona for Texas Lawyer

Texas Lawyer/Law.com has published an article on ‘Dram Shop liability laws in Texas and Arizona – How to Prepare for and Prevent Litigation’ written by partner Adam Dolan. The article describes existing dram shop laws in the two states and analyzes previous litigation. “Business owners need to be very aware of their patrons and how much alcohol they are consuming”, writes Dolan.

Dram shop cases are unique claims that don’t arise as often as other cases such as general liability, commercial motor vehicle accidents or even product liability claims.  However, the nature of dram shop-type cases can evoke intense feelings within a jury and business owners must be aware of the potential for large verdicts due to outrage on the part of the public.
