The New Jersey Law Journal published an article on March 25, 2026 by GL attorneys Gary Strong, partner and Niayla-Dia Murray, associate titled: You Can’t Spend Your Way Into Standing – How Appeals Courts Are Narrowing FHA Claims.
While district courts continue to entertain these claims, appellate courts are drawing firmer lines around Article III standing—making clear that organizations cannot simply “spend” their way into federal jurisdiction. For contractors, architects, and other upstream actors, that shift may significantly narrow exposure to such suits.
