Connecticut Supreme Court Affirms Trial Court Win Obtained by Gfeller Laurie
After more than a decade of litigation that included a trial, a Connecticut Appellate Court victory, a Connecticut Supreme Court reversal and remand, and a subsequent bench trial victory, the Connecticut Supreme Court affirmed a trial court verdict obtained by Robert Laurie confirming that the firm’s client correctly applied a Business Pursuits exclusion to deny coverage for an insured seeking indemnification for damages resulting from the false imprisonment of an employee who worked in a business office located within the insured home. Andrew Barsom and Kaylee Navarra assisted on brief and in the presentation of argument before the Court.
