GL’s Healthcare and Professional Liability Group Successfully Represents Physician Client in Standard of Care Lawsuit in CT
Last Friday, Partner M. Karen Noble and Associate Gabriella Izzo received a dismissal of all claims against their physician client in a medical malpractice action filed against him. The case was dismissed by the Court for plaintiff’s failure to comply with the pleading requirements in bringing a lawsuit pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes Sections 52-190a and 52-184c. Specifically, the plaintiff failed to provide a legally sufficient opinion letter from a similar health care provider in accordance with the statue, which furthermore failed to describe the applicable standard of care or describe how the defendant physician breached the standard of care.
