Sports Facilities and the Law Publishes Article Co-Authored by GL Attorneys on Imposing Liability on Contact-Sports Participants
GL Attorneys Charles Gfeller, Kendra McGuire and Olivia Tawa co-authored an article that published in Sports Facilities and the Law’s November/December 2022 issue – When Actions Speak Louder than Coaches: Imposing Liability on Contact-Sports Participants. The article analyzes what happened following a University of Michigan Wolverines game against rival Michigan State Spartans on October 29, 2022 where a variety of assault charges were filed. The analysis includes legal liability for actions, common defenses for legal liability and lessons learned for all the parties involved including sports participants and coaches.
